Overall happy but the bolts to hold the carrier onto the car are too long. Since they are metric, I bought shorter bolts with washers and nuts.

The "J" portion of this rack seems to be well padded in just the right areas. When installed, it leaves room for a friend's kayak on the opposite side of the car. However, I don't know this to be absolutely true because I can't figure out how to install the darn thing. I mean, I'm not slow. I'm really not. But, the box comes with all the pieces jammed in a bag with NO INSTRUCTIONS. Why? You tell me. Kinda nuts. So, while this may be great, inexpensive, alternative to a $400 Yakima system, it has yet to be seen. If anyone found directions, or can take a photo "how to" of this rack, I am sure many people would be greatly appreciative.
